It's the 4th of July and we celebrated with an early morning hike up Hamilton Mountain.
It was good hiking weather. Cool and overcast. Towards the top it was windy. I can understand how people can get caught suddenly in bad weather.
We made it past the falls and up to the best lookout point, and then we went a little farther to the cliffs. It took about 90 minutes to reach that point. The path is pretty steep and there are some tricky stretches.
At the cliffs, we talked with a couple hikers who were heading to the top. They said it was another mile and a half but that it was not as steep. We are going to try to make it all the way next time.
